A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
EQUIPMENT PURCHASE CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY
4 OF VERNON AND QUINDAR PRODUCTS LTD. FOR THE PURCHASE
AND INSTALLATION OF REMOTE TERMINAL UNITS TO
5 COMPLETE THE UPGRADE OF THE SCADA SYSTEM FOR THE
UTILITIES DEPARTMENT

7 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7447 adopted on
8 November 23, 1999, the City Council of the City of Vernon directed the
9 Purchasing Department to negotiate a contract with Quindar Products
10 Ltd. for the purchase and installation of remote terminal units (RTUs)
11 for the purposes of upgrading its Supervisory Control and Data
12 Acquisition (SCADA) System and to report back to the City Council on
13 the results of said contract negotiations with a recommendation for
14 action; and
15 WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department has entered into and
16 completed negotiations with Quindar Products Ltd.; and
17 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
18 enter into a contract with Quindar Products Ltd. for the purchase,
19 installation and testing of five (5) RTUs to complete the upgrade of
20 the SCADA System required by the Utilities Department.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
22 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
23 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
24 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
25 and correct.
26 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
27 approves the Equipment Purchase Contract, a copy of which has been
28 presented to the City Council concurrently with this resolution, and
the City Council hereby orders said Contract to be received and filed
by the City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said Contract for,
and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
