Resolution No. 75051 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 RESOLUTION NO, 7505 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF WONDRIES FORD ON BID NO. 1394 FOR THE PURCHASE OF A ONE AND A HALF -TON FLATBED TRUCK FOR THE UTILITIES DEPARTMENT AND APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A VEHICLE PURCHASE CONTRACT AND THE ISSUANCE OF A PURCHASE ORDER RESPECTING SAID BID WHEREAS, the Utilities Department is in need of a one and a half -ton flatbed truck to transport large padmounted transformers and 69 kV Circuit Breakers; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7459 adopted by the City Council of the City of Vernon on December 21, 1999, the City Clerk was directed to give notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the purchase of a one and a half -ton flatbed truck in accordance with a Bid Proposal (Bid No. 1394); and WHEREAS, the Bid Proposal (Bid No. 1394) of the City of Vernon was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to Resolution No. 7459, and sealed bids were opened on February 24, 2000; and WHEREAS, the following bids were received on Bid No. 1394: Wondries Ford bid a total of Thirty -Two Thousand Three Hundred Seventy - Six Dollars and No Cents ($32,376.00); Llovio Ford bid a total of Thirty -Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($32,500.00); Midway Ford bid a total of Thirty -Three Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty - Three Dollars and No Cents ($33,833.00); Crenshaw Motors bid a total of Thirty -Four Thousand Two Hundred Seventy -One Dollars and Sixty -Four Cents ($34,271.64); and Golden State Truck Center bid a total of 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 Thirty -Five Thousand Three Hundred Ninety -One Dollars and No Cents ($35,391.00); and WHEREAS, said bids were reviewed and approved by the Utilities Department; and WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City Clerk, by letter dated March 2, 2000, recommended that Bid No. 1394 be awarded to Wondries Ford, the lowest responsible bidder meeting the requirements of Bid No. 1394. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby awards Bid No. 1394 to Wondries Ford and accepts and approves the Vehicle Purchase Contract, a copy of which has been presented to the City Council concurrently with this resolution, and the City Council hereby orders said Contract to be received and filed by the City Clerk. SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute the Vehicle Purchase Contract on behalf of the City and authorizes the issuance of a purchase order for the purchase of a one and a half -ton flatbed truck pursuant to Bid No. 1394. SECTION 4: All other bids in connection with Bid No. 1394 are rejected, subject to execution of the aforesaid contract documents, and the City Treasurer is hereby directed to return to any unsuccessful bidders any cashier or certified checks which may have been deposited - 2 - a 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 with said bids, upon receipt of the executed contract documents from Wondries Ford, accompanied by all required certificates. SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
