RESOLUTION NO. 7506
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF DEL AMO DODGE ON BID NO.
1395 FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE DODGE GRAND CARAVAN FOR
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF A VEHICLE PURCHASE CONTRACT AND THE
ISSUANCE OF A PURCHASE ORDER RESPECTING SAID BID
WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of a new vehicle to
be used as a surveillance vehicle assigned to LA IMPACT to replace Unit
INo. 52, a 1993 voyager mini -van; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7473 adopted by the City
Council of the City of Vernon on February 1, 2000, the City Clerk was
directed to give notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the
purchase of a Dodge Grand Caravan vehicle in accordance with a Bid
Proposal (Bid No. 1395); and
WHEREAS, the Bid Proposal (Bid No. 1395) of the City of Vernon
was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
Resolution No. 7473, and sealed bids were opened on February 28, 2000;
land
WHEREAS, the following bid was received on Bid No. 1395: Del
Amo Dodge bid a total of Twenty -Three Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty -
Seven Dollars and No Cents ($23,787.00); and
WHEREAS, said bid was reviewed and approved by the Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City Clerk,
by letter dated March 2, 2000, recommended that Bid No. 1395 be awarded
to Del Amo Dodge, the lowest responsible bidder meeting the
requirements of Bid No. 1395.
1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
2 OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
4
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
5
6 and correct.
7 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
8 awards Bid No. 1395 to Del Amo Dodge and accepts and approves the
9 Vehicle Purchase Contract, a copy of which has been presented to the
10
City Council concurrently with this resolution, and the City Council
11
hereby orders said Contract to be received and filed by the City Clerk.
12
13 SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
14 authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute the Vehicle Purchase
15 Contract on behalf of the City and authorizes the issuance of a
16 purchase order for the purchase of a Dodge Grand Caravan vehicle
17
pursuant to Bid No. 1395.

SECTION 4: All other bids in connection with Bid No. 1395 are
19
20 rejected, subject to execution of the aforesaid contract documents, and
21 the City Treasurer is hereby directed to return to any unsuccessful
22 bidders any cashier or certified checks which may have been deposited
23 with said bids, upon receipt of the executed contract documents from
24
Del Amo Dodge, accompanied by all required certificates.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify
to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
