Resolution No. 7508l RESOLUTION NO. 7508 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM 4 THE FOLLOWING DEPARTMENTS: CITY ADMINISTRATOR/CITY CLERK (FINANCE, HEALTH AND LEGAL), COMMUNITY 5 SERVICES & WATER, AND POLICE (COMMUNICATIONS CENTER), PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY 6 CODE 7 8 WHEREAS, pursuant to Vernon City Code Section 2.31 and 9 Government Code Section 37350, the City of Vernon may sell surplus 10 Property for the common benefit; and 11 WHEREAS, the Finance Committee on March 20, 2000, recommended 12 that the property from the following departments be declared surplus 13 to the needs of the City of Vernon as said items are obsolete, 14 inoperable, or in poor and irreparable condition and are therefor no 15 longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon: 16 1. City Administrator/City Clerk Department (Finance, Health 17 and Legal), which property is more particularly described on Exhibit 18 "A," which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; 19 2. Community Services & Water Department, which property is 20 more particularly described on Exhibit "B," which is attached hereto 21 and made a part hereof by reference; 22 3. Police Department (Communications Center), which property 23 is more particularly described on Exhibit "C," which is attached 24 hereto and made a part hereof by reference; and 25 WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon 26 that the property described in said Exhibits be sold as surplus 27 property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. 28 / / / NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. SECTION -a: In accordance with Government Code Section 37350 and Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code, the City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A," 11B,1' and "C" is surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon. SECTION 3: The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to contract with an auction company, to obtain bids or to make other arrangements for the sale of the property described in said Exhibits as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
