y 1 ti. f 1f 41 4 I L.. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 7602 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM 4 THE FOLLOWING DEPARTMENTS: CITY ADMINISTRATOR/CITY CLERK (FINANCE), COMMUNITY SERVICES & WATER 5 (WAREHOUSE), FIRE AND POLICE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE 6 7 WHEREAS, pursuant to Vernon City Code Section 2.31 and 8 Government Code Section 37350, the City of Vernon may sell surplus 9 property for the common benefit; and 10 WHEREAS, the Finance Committee on August 7, 2000, recommended 11 to the City Council that property from the following departments be 12 declared surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said items are 13 obsolete, inoperable, or in poor and irreparable condition and are 14 therefor no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon: 15 1. City Administrator/City Clerk Department (Finance), which 16 property is described on Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and made 17 a part hereof by reference; 18 2. Community Services & Water Department (Warehouse), which 19 property is described on Exhibit "B" which is attached hereto and made 20 a part hereof by reference; 21 3. Fire Department, which property is described on Exhibit 22 "C" which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference. 23 4. Police Department (Communications Center), which property 24 is described on Exhibit "D" which is attached hereto and made a part 25 hereof by reference; and 26 WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon 27 that the property described in said Exhibits be sold as surplus 28property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. SECTION 2: In accordance with Government Code Section 37350 and Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code, the City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A," 11B," 11C," and "D" is surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon. SECTION 3: The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to contract with an auction company, to obtain bids or to make other arrangements for the sale of the property described in said Exhibits as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
