RESOLUTION NO. 7623
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
ONE-YEAR EXTENSION OF CONTRACT NO. 553 (OCTOBER 27,
2000-OCTOBER 26, 2001) BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF
VERNON AND PCI LTD. THROUGH ITS GENERAL PARTNER,
PAVING CONTRACTORS, INC.
WHEREAS, Contract No. 553, Traffic Pavement Striping 1999-
2000 Agreement, was awarded to Paving Contractors, Inc., by Resolution
No. 7374 on July 13,'1999, for a term of one year; and
WHEREAS, said contract provides for annual cost increases
based on the consumer price index and for annual extensions thereof;
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with a Certificate of Limited
Partnership filed on December 28, 1999, Paving Contractors, Inc. became
the general partner of PCI LTD., a California Limited Partnership; and
WHEREAS, Contract No. 553 dated as of October 27, 1999 had an
expiration date of August 31, 2000, unless extended; and
WHEREAS, Paving Contractors, Inc., the General Partner of PCI
LTD., a California Limited Partnership, has requested a one-year
extension of said contract with a cost increase; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Services & Water by letter
dated September 13, 2000, has recommended that said contract be
extended to October 27, 2001, and has verified that Paving Contractors,
Inc., the General Partner of PCI LTD, is eligible for an increase based
on the consumer price index.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
approves the Extension of Contract No. 553, October 27, 2000-October
26, 2001, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a
part hereof.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute the Extension of
Contract No. 553 for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
directs the City Clerk, or his designee, to send one fully executed
Agreement to:
Paving Contractors, Inc.
General Partner of PCI LTD.
Attn: William G. Jacob, President
1105 E. Hill Street
Long Beach, CA 90806
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.

EXTENSION OF CONTRACT NO, 553
(October 27, 2000-October 26, 2001)
Contract No. 553, Traffic Pavement Striping 1999-2000,
entered into by and between the City of Vernon and Paving Contractors,
Inc., is hereby extended for a one (1) year period from October 27,
2000 to October 26, 2001, according to the section on "Contract
Extension" in the Special Provisions of said Contract.
According to the section on "Compensation" in the Special
Provisions of said Contract, Paving Contractors, Inc., is granted a
price adjustment in accordance with the Consumer Price Index for
January l to December 31, 2000, at seventy-five percent (75%) of such
Consumer Price Index, which adjustment will be determined when the
index changes are issued.
In all other respects, the terms and conditions of Contract
No. 553, Traffic Pavement Striping 1999-2000, shall remain in full
force' and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this
Extension to be executed as of'this day of 2000, in
the City of Vernon, California.
