A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 7560, WHICH APPROVED
4 A BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001, TO REFLECT
INCREASES

6 WHEREAS, on June 27," 2000, the City Council of the City of
7 Vernon adopted Resolution No. 7560 which approved a budget for the
8 fiscal year 2000-2001; and
9 WHEREAS, the Finance Committee on September 12, 2000,
10 recommended to the City Council that approval be granted to add an
11 additional position to the Utilities Department; and
12 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
13 amend the budget for the fiscal year 2000-2001 to reflect certain
14 increased requirements for the fiscal year for the Utilities Department
15 budget of the City of Vernon; and
16 WHEREAS, the budget increase approved by this resolution will
17 not cause the budget of the City of Vernon to exceed the general
18 government appropriations limit for fiscal year 2000-2001 established
19 by Resolution No. 7561.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
21 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
22 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
23 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
24 and correct.
25 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
26 approves increasing the Salaries budget for the Utilities Department
27 for Information Systems from $220,795 to $250,036 and the Benefits
28 budget for the Utilities Department for Information Systems from

$69,387 to $76,190 as set forth in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof, to reflect certain increased requirements for
the fiscal year 2000-2001 for said budgets for the Utilities Department
of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the certain items set forth in Exhibit "A"
constitute a necessary increase in expenditure for salaries and
benefits and is in the best interests of the City of Vernon and
constitutes a reasonable expenditure of public funds.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
directed to file this resolution with the County Auditor of Los Angeles
County within sixty (60) days after its passage, to fulfill the
purposes of H 53900 and 53901 of the Government Code of the State of
California with respect to this amendment.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
