3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM
4 THE FOLLOWING DEPARTMENTS: POLICE (RECORDS), FIRE,
COMMUNITY SERVICES & WATER AND UTILITIES
5 (INFORMATION SYSTEM), PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF
THE VERNON CITY CODE

7 WHEREAS, pursuant to Vernon City Code Section 2.31 and
8 Government Code Section 37350, the City of Vernon may sell surplus
9 property for the common benefit; and
10 WHEREAS, the Finance Committee on October 16, 2000,
11 recommended to the City Council that property from the following
12 departments be declared surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as
13 said items are obsolete, inoperable, or in poor and irreparable
14 condition and are therefor no longer useful to the needs of the City
15 of Vernon:
16 1. Police Department (Records), which property is described
17 on Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
18 reference;
19 2. Fire Department, which property is described on Exhibit
20 "B" which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference;
21 3. Community Services & Water Department, which property is
22 described on Exhibit "C" which is attached hereto and made a part
23 hereof by reference;
24 4. Utilities Department (Information System), which property
25 is described on Exhibit "D" which is attached hereto and made a part
26 hereof by reference; and
27 WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
28 that the property described in the above -referenced Exhibits be sold

1 as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
3 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
4 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
5 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
6 and correct.
7 SECTION 2: In accordance with Government Code Section 37350
8 and Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code, the City Council of the City
9 of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property described in
10 the attached Exhibits "A," °B," 11C,11'and "D" is surplus to the needs
11 of the City of Vernon.
12 SECTION 3: The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to
13 contract with an auction company, to obtain bids or to make other
14 arrangements for the sale of the property described in said Exhibits
15 as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
16 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
17 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
18 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
19 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7`h day of November, 2000.
