2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 7562 BY AMENDING
SCHEDULE II, EXHIBIT "B," PAGE 4 OF SAID RESOLUTION
4 WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES
OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED CERTAIN EXPENSE
5 ALLOWANCES

7 WHEREAS, on June 27, 2000, Resolution No. 7562 was adopted by
8 the City Council of the City of Vernon to be effective on July 1,
9 2000; and
10 WHEREAS, by letter dated January 4, 2001, Bruce V.
11 Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, has recommended that the Assistant
12 Engineer position in the Utilities Department be eliminated and that a
13 Position of Electric Service Planner in the Utilities Department be
14 added with the same salary scale as that of the eliminated position;
15 and
16 WHEREAS, Schedule II, Exhibit "B," page 4 of Resolution No.
17 7562 provides for the position and salary scale for the position of
18 Assistant Engineer in the Utilities Department; and
19 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
20 amend page 4 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B" of Resolution No. 7562 to
21 eliminate the position of Assistant Engineer in the Utilities
22 Department and to add the position of Electric Service Planner in the
23 Utilities Department with the same salary scale as that of the
24 eliminated position.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
26 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
27 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
28 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
1 and correct.
2 SECTION 2: Effective February 1, 2001, Schedule II, Exhibit
3 "B," page 4 of Resolution No. 7562 is hereby amended to eliminate the
4 position of Assistant Engineer in the Utilities Department and to
5 establish anew position of Electric Service Planner in the Utilities
6 Department with the appropriate salary schedule as indicated in
7 Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
8 SECTION 3: The provisions of Resolution Nos. 7562 and 7604
9 not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby
10 repealed; in all other respects, Resolution No. 7562, as amended by
11 Resolution No. 7604, shall remain in full force and effect.
12 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
13 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
14 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
15 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of January, 2001.
