1 RESOLUTION NO. 7700
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM
3 THE UTILITIES DEPARTMENT (INFORMATION SYSTEM),
PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE
4
5 WHEREAS, pursuant to Vernon City Code Section 2.31 and
6 Government Code Section 37350, the City of Vernon may sell surplus
7 property for the common benefit; and
8 WHEREAS, on January 22, 2001, the Finance Committee approved
9 the recommendation of Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, dated
10 January 18, 2001, and recommended to the City Council that property
11 from the Utilities Department (Information System), more particularly
12 described on Exhibit "A attached hereto and made a part hereof by
13 reference, be declared surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as
14 said items are damaged, obsolete, or in poor and irreparable condition
15 and are therefor no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon;
16 and
17 WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
18 that the property described in the above -referenced Exhibits be sold
19 as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
21 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
22 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
23 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
24 and correct.
25 SECTION 2: In accordance with Government Code Section 37350
26 land Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code, the City Council of the City
27 of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property described in
28 the attached Exhibit "A" is surplus to the needs of the City of

SECTION 3: The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to
contract with an auction company, to obtain bids or to make other
arrangements for the sale of the property described in said Exhibit as
surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7ch day of February, 2001.
