RESOLUTION NO. 7743
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE.CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 556 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON FOR PAVING OF PIPE YARD AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Vernon Contract No. 556 for Paving of Pipe Yard;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance with
applicable State law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: Contract No. 556, Paving of Pipe Yard,
is hereby approved and accepted by the City Council of the City
of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
proposals or bids for Paving of Pipe Yard in accordance with
Contract No. 556 and in accordance with this resolution.
SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general
1 circulation printed, published or circulated in.the City of
2 Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice,
3 or cause the same to be posted, in three of the most public
4 places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of
5 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis
6 Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in
7 the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at
8 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
9 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
10 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
11 posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10) days
12 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
13 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
14 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
15 of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA
16 90058-0805, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 8th day of May,
17 2001.
18 SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
19 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
20 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
21 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of April, 2001.
