2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF SIALIC CONTRACTORS
3 CORPORATION DBA SHAWNAN FOR ALAMEDA STREET
4 PROPERTY IMPROVEMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 557 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND
5 APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 557 of the City of Vernon was
7 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 7727, and sealed bids were opened on April 11,
9 2001; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
11 Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, who has reported
12 to the City Council under the date of April 12, 2001,
13 recommending that Contract No. 557 for Alameda Street Property
14 Improvements be executed with Sialic Contractors Corporation dba,
15 Shawnan on the basis of its bid in the sum of one hundred
16 sixteen thousand eight hundred and eighty dollars and no cents
17 ($116,880.00), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the
18 contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
20 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
21 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
22 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
23 hereinabove are true and correct.
24 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
25 does hereby award Contract No. 557 to Sialic Contractors
26 Corporation dba Shawnan in accordance with the recommendation of
27 Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services'& Water, and
28 authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said Contract on
1 behalf of the City.
2 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
3 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
4 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or certified
5 checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt of'an executed
6 contract from Sialic Contractors Corporation dba Shawnan
7 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
8 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
9 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
10 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
11 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of April, 2001.
