Additional units are requested due to the present fleet's increasing need for maintenance due to wear and tear. This results in more down time. The additional vehicles will allow the garage to use two units as loaners when vehicles are in for service. The State of California Department of General Services Procurement Division awarded a state contract #1-02-23-20 to various dealers for trucks, vans and utility vehicles. The Purchasing Section is recommending we piggyback on to the contract. Maita Chevrolet is the awarded vendor for the Chevrolet C2500 trucks. The approximate cost for the two trucks with tax included to $34,657.32. Maita Chevrolet offers a $500.00 discount net 20 days per each unit. There is a service charge paid to the State for use of the contract, which is 1 % of the purchase order total before tax ($320.16). The department has budgeted sufficient funds for the above purchase. 1'e 9 Page 1 61 rt Memo To: Bruce V.
