x i HER AS, an awards committee selects a Department axand veeciiie �

WHEREAS, by letter dated February 19, 2002, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, C�
Administrator/City Clerk, advised the City Council that the Community Services ' W-d- k
De artment had selected Juan Arellano, Utilityman II, to receive the SPIRITS 2001
DUAL DEPARTMENT AVARD (Level 2); and
WHEREAS, in order to advance to Level 3 of said selection process an awards
committee composed of Department Heads and/ or their designees selects one annual SPIRITS City
atvard recipient from the recipients of Level awards; and
WIHERFAS, Juan Arellano, Utilityman II in the Community Services & Dater
Department, has demonstrated a high degree of initiative and skill such that the awards committee
has selected him to receive the SPIRITS 2001 ANNUAL CITY AWIARD (Level 3) in
recognition of his excellent and superior performance; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to express its
appreciation and gratitude to Juan Arellano for his exemplary services to the City.
NOTE THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITYCOUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWIS.
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby expresses its
appreidtion and gratitude to Juan Arellano for his exemplary services to the City of Vernon y
