2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 564 FOR ROOF
3 REPLACEMENT OF VERNON POWER PLANT AND
4 AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH

6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
7 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 564 for Roof Replacement of
8 Vernon Power Plant located at 2715 East 50th Street in the City
9 of Vernon; and
10 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
11 determined that it is in the best interest of the City with
12 applicable State law.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
14 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
15 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
16 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
17 hereinabove are true and correct.
18 SECTION 2: Contract No. 564 for Roof Replacement
19 of Vernon Power Plant is hereby approved and accepted by the
20 City Council of the City of Vernon.
21 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
22 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
23 City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
24 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
25 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
26 proposals or bids for Roof Replacement of Vernon Power Plant in
27 accordance with Contract No. 564 and in accordance with this
28 resolution.

SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general
circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice,
or cause the same to be posted, in three of the most public
places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of
38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis
Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in
the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at
4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10) days
before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA
90058-0805, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 4th day of June
2002.
SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of May 2002.
