RESOLUTION NO. 7961
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 7682 WHICH SET THE
TIME AND PLACE FOR REGULAR MEETINGS OF COMMITTEES
AND COMMISSIONS OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 2.5-4 and 2.5-5 of the
Code of the City of Vernon, California, 1959, the time and place of
regular meetings of committees or commissions of the City of Vernon
shall be established by resolution; and
WHEREAS, on December 19, 2000, the City Council of the City
of Vernon adopted Resolution No. 7682 which set the time and place of
regular meetings of committees and commissions of the City of Vernon;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
amend Resolution No. 7682 to change the time of regular meetings of the
Finance Committee of the City of Vernon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct..
SECTION 2: Effective May 16, 2002, the City Council of the
City of Vernon hereby amends Section 6 of Resolution No. 7682 as
follows:
SECTION 6: Finance Committee. The regular
meetings of the Finance Committee of the City of
Vernon shall be held in the City Council Chamber at
the above -described location on the Tuesday

following the first (1st) and second (2"d) regularly
scheduled City Council meetings of every month at
the hour of 4:30 p.m. If said regular meetings are
scheduled on a recognized holiday, said meetings
shall then take place on the next day thereafter,
at the same time and place.
SECTION 3: In all other respects, Resolution No. 7682 shall
remain in full force and effect, and the provisions of said resolution
not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.

3 VERNON SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR REGULAR
MEETINGS OF COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS OF THE CITY

6 WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 2.5-4 and 2.5-5 of the
7 Code of the City of Vernon, California, 1959, the time and place of
8 regular meetings of committees or commissions of the City of Vernon
9 shall be established by resolution; and
10 WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1081, the City Council has
11 amended the Code of the City of Vernon to change the dates for the
12 regular City Council meetings from the first and third Tuesday of each
13 month to the first and third Wednesday of each month; and
14 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
15 establish the time and place of regular meetings of committees and
16 commissions of the City of Vernon to coincide with the newly
17 established regular meeting dates.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
19 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
20 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
21 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
22 and correct.
23 SECTION 2: Sections 3 through 4 below will take effect on
24 January 1, 2001.
25 SECTION 3: Police and Fire Commission. The regular
26 meetings of the Police and Fire Commissioners of the City of Vernon
27 shall be held in the City Council Chamber at the above -described
28 location on the first (1't) Wednesday of each month at the hour of 4:30

p.m. and the third (3rd) Wednesday of each month at the hour of 4:45
p.m. If said regular meetings are scheduled on a recognized holiday,
said meetings shall then take place on the day thereafter, at the same
time and place.
SECTION -A: Board of Library Trustees. The regular meetings
of the Board of Library Trustees of the City of Vernon shall be held in
the City Council Chamber at the above -described location on the first
(1st) Wednesday of each month at the hour of 4:45 p.m. If said regular
meeting is scheduled on a recognized holiday, said meeting shall then
take place on the next day thereafter, at the same time and place.
SECTION 5: Personnel Committee. The regular meetings of the
Personnel Committee of the City of Vernon shall be held in the City
Council Chamber at the above -described location on the Monday preceding
the first (1st) and second (2nd) regularly scheduled City Council
meetings of every month at the hour of 4:30 p.m. If said regular
meetings are scheduled on a recognized holiday, said meetings shall
then take place on the next day thereafter, at the same time and place.
SECTION 6: Finance Committee. The regular meetings of the
Finance Committee of the City of Vernon shall be held in the City.
