RESOLUTION NO. 7998
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF ALL
AMERICAN ASPHALT FOR RESURFACING OF SOTO
STREET, BANDINI BOULEVARD, PACIFIC
BOULEVARD AND ATLANTIC BOULEVARD IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 563 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION
OF SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, Contract No. 563 of the City of,Vernon was
approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
Resolution No. 7955, and sealed bids were opened on June 11,
2002; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, who has reported
to the City Council under the date of June 13, 2002,
recommending that Contract No. 563 for Resurfacing of Soto
Street, Bandini Boulevard, Pacific Boulevard and Atlantic
Boulevard be executed with All American Asphalt on the basis of
its bid in the sum of seven hundred ninety seven thousand seven
hundred and ninety seven dollars and no cents ($797,797.00),
being the lowest responsible bid meeting the contract
requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award Contract No. 563 to All American Asphalt in

accordance with the recommendation of Samuel Kevin Wilson,
Director of Community Services & Water, and authorizes the Mayor
and City Clerk to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.
SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or certified
checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt of an executed
contract from All American Asphalt accompanied by all required
bonds and certificates.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
