2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF STONE
3 ROOFING CO., INC. FOR ROOF REPLACEMENT OF
4 VERNON POWER PLANT IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 564 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
5 AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
6
7 WHEREAS, Contract No. 564 of the City of Vernon was
8 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
9 Resolution No. 7951, and sealed bids were opened on June 4,
10 2002; and
11 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
12 Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, who has reported
13 to the City Council under the date of June 13, 2002,
14 recommending that Contract No. 564 for Roof Replacement of
15 Vernon Power Plant be executed with Stone Roofing Co., Inc. on
16 the basis of its bid in the sum of one hundred twenty seven
17 thousand one hundred dollars and no cents ($127,100.00), being
18 the lowest responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
20 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
21 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
22 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
23 hereinabove are true and correct.
24 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
25 does hereby award Contract No. 564 to Stone Roofing Co., Inc. in
26 accordance with the recommendation of Samuel Kevin Wilson,
27 Director of Community Services & Water, and authorizes the Mayor
28 and City Clerk to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.
1 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
2 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
3 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or certified
4 checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt of an executed
5 contract from Stone Roofing Co., Inc. accompanied by all
6 required bonds and certificates.
7 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
8 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
9 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
10 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of June 2002.
