2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF STONE
3 ROOFING CO., INC. IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
4 NO. 564 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
5 WHEREAS, Stone Roofing Co., Inc. was awarded Contract No. 564 for Roof
6 Replacement of Vernon Power Plant pursuant to Resolution No. 7999 of the City of Vernon; and
7 WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services and Water
8 has reported to the City Council of the City of Vernon on August 13, 2003 that said work has
9 been completed and recommends that the work be accepted and payment be made to the
10 Contractor in accordance with the agreement.
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
12 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
13 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and
14 determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct.
is SECTION 2: The work of Stone Roofing Co., Inc. pursuant to Contract No. 564
16 is hereby approved and accepted by the City Council of the City of Vernon.
17 SECTION 3: The total contract amount is One Hundred Twenty Seven
18 Thousand One Hundred Dollars and no cents ($127,100.00). The remaining ten percent (10%)
19 or the sum of Twelve Thousand Seven Hundred Ten Dollars and no cents ($12,710.00) is
20 payable thirty-five days after the adoption of this resolution.
21 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon hereby directs payment of
22 said sums as set forth to Stone Roofing Co., Inc. and instructs the City Clerk to file a notice of
23 completion with the County Recorder.
24 SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of
25 this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

Contract No. 564
The Roof Replacement of the Vernon Power Plant, Contract No. 564, has been completed
according to the Plans and Specifications. The total amount expended for the construction equals
the original contract amount of $127,100.00. It is recommended that the work be accepted and
that authority be granted to pay the contractor, Stone Roofing Company, Incorporated, 730 N.
Coney Avenue Azusa, California 91702, in accordance with the agreement. The final ten percent
(10%) of the total contract amount, the sum of $12,710.00, is payable thirty-five days after
acceptance of the work. Any claims filed by properly executed and filed notices of stop payment
or as may be authorized by the contract to be retained will be withheld from this retention.
