A -RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 VERNON AMENDING SCHEDULE IV (EXHIBIT `°D") OF
RESOLUTION NO. 8228 WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION
4 FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED
5 CERTAIN EXPENSE ALLOWANCES
6 WHEREAS, on June 25, 2003, the City Council of the City of
7 Vernon adopted Resolution No. 8228 to be effective on July 1, 2003;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, on September 23, 2003, the Finance Committee
10 considered the recommendation of Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of
11 Finance, dated September 16, 2003, that Resolution No. 8228 be amended
12 to provide a uniform allowance to dispatchers in the Police
13 Department; and
14 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
15 amend Resolution No. 8228 by amending Schedule IV (Exhibit "D") to
16 provide for a uniform allowance to Police dispatchers.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
18 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
19 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
20 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
21 and correct.
22 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
23 amends Schedule IV, Exhibit "D," of Resolution No. 8228 to create a
24 uniform allowance for Vernon Police Dispatchers who (a) have
25 satisfactorily completed his/her evaluation period, (b) are required
26 by the Vernon Police Department to own and maintain a uniform and (c)
27 are on the active payroll of the Vernon Police Department. The
28 uniform allowance shall be the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00)

for the fiscal year 2003-2004 for the purchase of such clothing and
related equipment on his/her anniversary date.
SECTION 3: The provisions of Resolution No. 8228 and 8272
not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby
repealed; in all other respects, Resolution No. 8228, as amended by
Resolution No. 8272, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
