RESOLUTION NO. 8337
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
FROM THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION OF THE
CITY ADMINISTRATOR/CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT TO THE
VERNON CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
WHEREAS, on December 8, 2003, the Finance Committee
considered the recommendation of Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Director of
Finance, dated December 4, 2003, that property from the Information
Technology Division of the City Administrator/City Clerk Department
more particularly described on the attached Exhibit "A," which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof, be (i) declared surplus to the
needs of the City of Vernon as said property is no longer useful to the
needs of the City of Vernon and (ii) donated to the Vernon City
Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that the donation of said surplus property to the Vernon
City Elementary School will serve a public purpose by (i) promoting the
general municipal welfare; (ii) providing public beneficial effect; and
(iii) being in the best interests of the constituents of the City of
Vernon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby

finds and determines that the property described in the attached
Exhibit "A" is surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the donation of the property described in
the attached Exhibit "A" to the Vernon City Elementary School for the
educational needs of the children serves a public purpose.
SECTION 4: The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to
donate said surplus property to the Vernon City Elementary School.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
