RESOLUTION NO. 8339
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF
SCHULER ENGINEERING CORPORATION FOR THE
HOLLYDALE RECYCLED WATER PUMP STATION IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 586 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION
OF SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, Contract No. 586 of the City of Vernon was
approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
Resolution No. 8293, and sealed bids were opened on November 18,
2003; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, who has reported
to the City Council under the date of December 29, 2003,
recommending that Contract No. 586 for the Hollydale Recycled
Water Pump Station be executed with Schuler Engineering
Corporation on the basis of its bid in the sum of Nine Hundred
Seventy Five Thousand Six Hundred Fifty Dollars and no cents
($975,650.00), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the
contract requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award Contract No. 586 to Schuler Engineering
Corporation in accordance with the recommendation of Samuel
Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, and
1 authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said Contract on
2 behalf of the City.
3 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
4 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
5 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or certified
6 checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt of an executed
7 contract from Schuler Engineering Corporation accompanied by all
8 required bonds and certificates.
9 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
10 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
11 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
12 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of January 2004.
