�¢ VERNON COMMENDING EDWARD L. SAENZ FOR HIS l
F. YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF VERNON

WIHERF.AS, EDWIARD L. SAENZ was employed by the Csty of Vernon since
April 11, 1966; and
WTHEREAS, ED WIARD L. SAENZ will retire from the service of the City of
Vernon on January 15, 2004; and
WIHEREAS, EDWIARD L SAENZ was hired by the City of Vernon as a
Utilityman I V in the Community Services & Wlater Department on April 11, 966, reclassified
to the position of Utilityman III on January 1, 1972, upgraded to position of Utilityman Il on
January 1, 1974, advanced and reclassified to the position of Engineering Aide I on December 27,
1981 and reclassified to the position of Utilityman I on April 16, 1990 in the Street Section; and
WIHEREAS, former Vernon Fire Chief George E Bass wrote a Letter of
Commendation dated March 18, 1980 to the City Council commending EDWIARD L
SAENZ for his assistance in connection with afire scene investigation; and
Wl'HEREAS, EDWIARD L. SAENZ has faithfully served the City of Vernoa� f
approximately 37 '/z years, and his loss will be deeply felt by the City of Vernon.
