ONE TO EQUIPMENT PURCHASE AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND NETWORK PRESENCE LLC WHEREAS, on August 21, 2002, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted Resolution No. 8042 approving and authorizing the execution of an Equipment Purchase and Professional Services Contract (the "Contract") with Network Presence LLC ("Network") for assistance in the development and implementation of a new firewall security system for the City; and WHEREAS, in order to enhance security and improve connection performance to the internet, the City desires to expand the existing scope of services with Network to include additional software and hardware enhancements, configuration, testing and training to implement a Firewall System Phase II and modify the compensation accordingly; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 2 and 13.N of the Contract, the City of Vernon and Network desire to amend the Contract to incorporate changes to the scope of services and the adjustment of compensation and completion time required therefor; and WHEREAS, on December 16, 2003, the Finance Committee considered the recommendation of Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Director of Finance, dated December 11, 2003, that an amendment to the Contract be approved. SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby approves the Amendment No. One to the Equipment Purchase and Professional Services Contract with Network, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof. SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said Amendment for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon. SECTION 3: The following language shall be added to Section 3, Price: Under this Amendment No. One, City will pay Network for the Firewall System Phase II a sum not to exceed Seven Thousand Two Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($7,200.00), including tax and shipping, in accordance with the Proposal and Sales Quotation. SECTION 4: The following language shall be added to Section 4, Payment Terms- Under this Amendment No. One, the City also agrees to pay Network net thirty (30) days from receipt of an invoice from Network for the equipment and services as outlined in Exhibit "A." Phase H of the project includes the following tasks: • Configure new network interface on the firewall for the Sheriff connection An additional network interface will be configured and tested. This network will facilitate connections to the Sheriff network at the County of Los Angeles. This step also includes deleting existing host routes located on PD workstations and enabling static routes on the Nokia/Check Point firewall. The City of Vernon IT division will delete the existing static host entries located on end user workstations and Network Presence will enable the static routes on the Nokia/Check Point firewall. The City will provide Network Presence with all host routes necessary to complete this task. Estimated Deployment/Testing Time: 2.5 Hours • Configure new network interface on the firewall for the Police Department (Wireless) An additional network interface will be configured and tested. This network will facilitate secure communications with the Police Department's CDPD wireless system Estimated Deployment/Testing Time: 2.5 Hours • Install existing 4-port network card A new 4-port network interface card will be installed in the firewall. This step involves taking the firewall offline, adding the interface card, and rebooting the firewall Estimated Deployment/Testing Time: 30 Minutes • Hardware cost for a redundant hard drive for the Nokia IP530 Pricing for the redundant hard drive is provided separately. • Deployment and testing of the redundant hard drive A new hard disk drive will be installed in the firewall to provide redundancy. This step involves taking the firewall offline, opening the case, adding the drive, booting the system, and enabling the redundancy feature. Additionally, the City requested the ability to test for a drive failure. This will likely be performed on a different day since the firewall takes a few hours to synchronize both drives.
