Resolution No. 83642 3 4 5 6 7 8 M1 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 8364 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING SCHEDULE II, EXHIBIT "B," PAGES 4, 5 AND 13-17 OF RESOLUTION NO. 8228 WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED CERTAIN EXPENSE ALLOWANCES WHEREAS, on June 25, 2003, Resolution No. 8228 was adopted by Ithe City Council of the City of Vernon to be effective on July 1, 2003; Iand WHEREAS, on February 18, 2004, the Finance Committee considered the recommendation of Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Director of Finance, dated January 19, 2004, that the IT Division of the City Administrator/City Clerk Department be reorganized by (a) establishing the classification and salary scale for Administrative Assistant and Network Systems Administrator; (b) eliminating the position of IT Manager; (c) correcting the classification title of Information Technology II to Information Technology Specialist II; and WHEREAS, on February 18, 2004, the Finance Committee recommended the reorganization of the Light and Power Department by (a)', eliminating the positions of Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director of Resource Management and Assistant Director of Engineering and Operations; (b) establishing the classification and salary scale for the positions of Generation Operations Manager and Engineering Operations Manager; and (c) moving the Customer Service division to the Finance Division of the City Administrator/City Clerk Department; and WHEREAS, on February 18, 2004, the Finance Committee recommended the reorganization of the City Administrator/City Clerk Department by (a) establishing the classification and salary scale for y `r 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 Special Assistant to the City Administrator; (b) changing the salary scale of the Finance Office Manager position; (c) eliminating the position of Finance Support Analyst; and (d) changing the salary scale of the Assistant to the City Administrator position; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to amend Schedule II, Exhibit "B," pages 4, 5 and 13 to 17 of Resolution No. 8228 to implement the reorganization. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby (finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true land correct. SECTION 2: Effective February 23, 2004, pages 13 to 17 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B" of Resolution No. 8228 are hereby amended to (a) create the position and salary scale for the positions of Administrative Assistant and Network Systems Administrator; (b) eliminate the position of IT Manager; (c) correct the classification title of Information Technology II to Information Technology Specialist II; (d) change the salary scale of the Assistant to the City Administrator position; (e) eliminate the position of Finance Support Analyst; (f) move the positions of Customer Service Manager, Customer Service Representatives and all meter reader classifications from Light and Power Department as indicated on the amended pages 13-17 which are attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A." Effective March 1, 2004, page 13 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B" of Resolution No. 8228 is hereby amended to (a) create the position and salary scale for the position of Special Assistant to the City Administrator; and (b) change the salary scale for the Finance Office - 2 - 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18' 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 Manager position as indicated on the amended page 13 which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A." SECTION 3: Effective March 1, 2004, pages 4 and 5 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B" of Resolution No. 8228 are hereby amended to (a) create the position and salary scale for the positions of Generation Operations Manager and Engineering Operations Manager; and (b) eliminate the positions of Director of Light and Power, Deputy Director of Light and Power, Assistant Director of Resource Management and Assistant Director of Engineering and Operations as indicated on the amended pages 4 and 5 which are attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "B." SECTION 4: The provisions of Resolution Nos. 8228, 8272, 8286, 8338 and 8346 not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby repealed; in all other respects, Resolution No. 8228, as amended by Resolution Nos. 8272, 8286, 8338 and 8346, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
