RESOLUTION NO. 8417
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING A CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE FOR
THE VERNON HISTORIC PRESERVATION SOCIETY
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. VHPS-0002, adopted February 18,
2004, the Vernon Historic Preservation Society ("VHPS") approved a
Conflict of Interest Code (the "Code") and submitted the Code to the
City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to Sections 87300 et seq.
of the California Government Code; and
WHEREAS, by letter dated April 1, 2004, Bruce V.
Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City Clerk, has recommended that the
Code be approved; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Code submitted by
the VHPS meets the criteria of California Government Code Section
87302.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The Conflict of Interest Code submitted by the
VHPS and provided for in Resolution No. VHPS-0002 is hereby approved.
SECTION 3: The Conflict of Interest Code is deemed adopted
by the VHPS pursuant to Sections 87300, et sec. of the California
Government Code.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
