Resolution No. 8427WHEREAS, LUKE V. SALERNO has been employed by the City of Vernon
since May 16, 1974; and
WHEREAS, LUKE V. SALERNO will retire from the service of the City of
Vernon on May 20, 2004; and
WHEREAS, LUKE V. SALERNO was hired by the City of Vernon as a
Utilityman IV in the Community Services & Dater Department on May 16, 1974, reclassified to
the position of Utilityman III on July 1, 1979, upgraded to position of Utilityman I on June 28,
981, advanced to the position of Foreman in the Garage on June 27, 1982 and reclassified to the
position of Foreman in the Warehouse and Garage in October of 1995; and
IMEKF.AS, LUKE V. SALERNO has faithfully served the City of Vernon for
pproximately 30 years, and his loss will be deeply felt by the City of Vernon.
NOIV, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUN
OF THE CITY OF VERNONAS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon takes this opportunity to
commend LUKE V. SALERNO for his manyyears of devoted service to the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon wishes LUKE V.
µ SALERNO continued success in whatever endeavors he may undertake.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon shall cert to the passage --of
this resolution and present a certified copy thereof to LUKE V. SALERNO and that thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
