RESOLUTION NO. 8472
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING A BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2004-
2005
WHEREAS, on June 25, 2003, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Resolution No. 8227 approving a budget for the fiscal
year 2003-2004; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 8227 was amended by Resolution No.
8414 on March 24, 2004, to reflect increased requirements for the 2003-
2004 fiscal year for certain expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
establish a new budget to anticipate the requirements for the fiscal
year 2004-2005 for the different departments of the City of Vernon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
approves the budget as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference to anticipate the requirements for the
fiscal year 2004-2005 for the different departments of the City of
Vernon.
SECTION 2: The anticipated revenues for the fiscal year
2004-2005 are set forth in Exhibit B attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that certain items provided for in individual
department budgets are in the nature of community promotion and
education, and the City Council of the City of Vernon further finds and
determines that the same are in the best interests of the City of

Vernon and constitute a reasonable expenditure of public funds.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
directed to file this Resolution with the County Auditor of Los Angeles
County, located at the following address, within sixty (60) days after
July 1, 2004, as required by §§53900 and 53901 of the Government Code
of the State of California:

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The City of Vernon will conduct a Public Hearing that you may attend.
PLACE: Vernon City Hall
City Council Chambers
4305 Santa Fe Avenue
Vernon, CA 90058
TIME: Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at 5:00 p.m. or as soon
thereafter as the matter may be heard.
PURPOSE: To consider the City of Vernon's Budget for fiscal year
2002-2003 adopted June 26, 2002.
Any interested person may attend and may make an oral
presentation to the City Council at the time of the hearing, or may
present written comments prior to the hearing.
If you challenge the approval of the City's Budget or any
provision thereof in court, you may be limited to raising only those
issues you or someone else raised at the hearing described in this
notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City of Vernon
at, or prior to, the meeting.
The hearing may be continued or adjourned to a stated time
and place without further notice.
