RESOLUTION NO. 8671
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF SCHULER
ENGINEERING CORPORATION IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 586 OF THE CITY OF VERNON

WHEREAS, Schuler Engineering Corporation was awarded Contract No. 586 for
work on the Hollydale Recycled Water Pump Station pursuant to Resolution No. 8339 of the
City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services and Water
has reported to the City Council of the City of Vernon on February 9,2005 that said work has
been completed and has been accepted by Central Basin Municipal Water District and
recommends that the work be accepted by the City of Vernon and payment be made to the

Contractor in accordance with the contract.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and

determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The work of Schuler Engineering Corporation pursuant to Contract
No. 586 is hereby approved and accepted by the City Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The total contract amount is Nine Hundred Eighty One Thousand
Five Hundred Thirty Seven Dollars and sixty-four cents ($981,537.64). Therefore, ofthe funds
due to Schuler Engineering Corporation .Four Thousand Eight Hundred Eight Dollars and eight
cents ($4,808.08) is now due. The remaining ten percent (10%) or the sum of Ninety Eight
Thousand One Hundred Fifty Three Dollars and seventy-six cents ($98,153.76) has been
deposited in an escrow account and shall be released thirty-five days after the adoption of this

resolution.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon hereby directs payment of
said sums as set forth to Schuler Engineering Corporation and instructs the City Clerk to file a
notice of completion with the County Recorder.

1 SECTION 5: The City Clerk ofthe City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of
2 this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
