RESOLUTION NO. 8690
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING SECTION 25(c) (2) OF RESOLUTION NO.
8473 WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN
EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED CERTAIN
EXPENSE ALLOWANCES
WHEREAS, on June 30, 2004, Resolution No. 8473 was adopted by
the City Council of the City of Vernon to be effective on July 1, 2004;
and

WHEREAS, Section 25(c) (2) of Resolution No. 8473 authorizes a
per meeting attendance allowance for each Council member for certain
meetings; and
WHEREAS, on March 2, 2005, the City Council adopted Ordinance
No. 1105, which established the Disbursement Review Subcommittee of the

Finance Committee; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
authorize compensation for attendance by City Council members at the
meetings of the Disbursement Review Subcommittee.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
21 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
22 and correct.
23 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
24 amends Section 25(c) (2) of Resolution No. 8473 as follows:

(2) Attendance Allowance.
(a) To each Council member a per meeting
27 attendance allowance for the following meetings and/or other required
28 or miscellaneous meetings or negotiations when the Council member

1 devotes two (2) hours or less, including travel time for said meetings,
2 shall be paid as follows:

SECTION 3:
The provisions of Resolution Nos. 8473, 8517
8530, 8594, 8613, 8644 and 8659 not consistent with or in conflict with
this resolution are hereby repealed; in all other respects, Resolution
No. 8473, as amended by Resolution No. 8517, 8530, 8594, 8613, 8644 and
8659 shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4:
The per meeting attendance allowance for the
committee meetings of the Public Benefits Resource Committee shall be
effective on April 2, 2005, the effective date of Ordinance No. 1105.
SECTION 5:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
