Resolution No. 8739 1 RESOLUTION NO. 8739 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF BEST ROOFING & W ATERPROFFING, INC. DBA BEST CONTRACTING SERVICES FOR THE ROOFING REPLACEMENT OF VARIOUS CITY STRUCTURES IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 589 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT 2 3 4 5 6 7 WHEREAS, Contract No. 589 ofthe City of Vernon was approved by the City 8 Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to Resolution No. 8708, and sealed bids were opened on 9 May 10, 2005; and 10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of 11 Community Services & Water, who has reported to the City Council under the date of May 10, 12 2005, recommending that Contract No. 589 for the Roof Replacement of V arious City Structures 13 be executed with Best Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. dba Best Contracting Services on the basis 14 of its bid in the sum of Thirty One Thousand Eight Hundred Eighty Three Dollars and no cents 15 ($31,883.00), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the contract requirements. 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE , 17 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: 18 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and 19 determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. 20 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby award 21 Contract No. 589 to Best Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. dba Best Contracting Services in 22 accordance with the recommendation of Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services ~ 3 & Water, and authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said Contract on behalf of the City. 24 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to execution ofthe contract and 25 the City Treasurer is hereby directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or certified 26 checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt of an executed contract from Empire Pipe 27 Cleaning & Equipment, Inc. accompanied by all required bonds and certificates. 28 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of 1 this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
