RESOLUTION NO. 8740
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 8365 WHICH SET THE
TIME AND PLACE FOR REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE PUBLIC
BENEFITS RESOURCE COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 8732
7 WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2.5-5 of the Code of the
8 City of Vernon, California, 1959, the time and place of regular
9 meetings of committees or commissions of the City of Vernon shall be
10 established by resolution; and
11 WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 8365 on
12 February 18, 2004, establishing a regular schedule of meetings of the
13 Public Benefits Resources Committee ("PBRC"); and
14 WHEREAS, on April 27, 2005, the City Council of the City of
15 Vernon adopted Resolution No. 8732, amending the regular schedule of
16 meetings of the PBRC; and
17 WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend Resolution No.
18 8365 to change the time of the regular meetings of the PBRC and to
19 repeal Resolution No. 8732.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
21 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
23 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
24 and correct.

SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
26 repeals Resolution No. 8732.

SECTION 3:
Effective May 18, 2005, the City Council of the
28 City of Vernon hereby amends Section 2 of Resolution No. 8365 as

SECTION 2: Public Benefits Resource Committee
Section. The Public Benefits Resource Committee

meetings shall be held on the same day as
regular meetings of the City Council of the City

of Vernon at the hour of 4:00 p.m., or as soon
7
thereafter as the City Council adjourns the City
8

of Vernon regular Vernon Historic Preservation
Society meeting. If a regularly scheduled
meeting of the City Council is adjourned to
another date and/or time, the meeting of the
PBRC shall be deemed continued by the same
13
action.

SECTION 4:
In all other respects, Resolution No. 8365 shall
15 remain in full force and effect, and the provisions of said resolution
16 not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby
18
17 repealed.
SECTION 5:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
19 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and th~reafter
20 the same shall be in full force and effect.
