RESOLUTION NO. 8741
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 7682 WHICH SET THE
TIME AND PLACE FOR REGULAR MEETINGS OF CERTAIN
COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 8731

WHEREAS, in accordance with section 2.5-5 of the Code of the
City of Vernon, California, 1959, the time and place of regular
meetings of committees or commissions of the City of Vernon shall be
established by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council established a regular schedule of
meetings of committees and commissions of the City of Vernon by
Resolution No. 7682, adopted December 19, 2000; and
WHEREAS, on April 27, 2005, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Resolution No. 8731 amending the regular schedule of
meetings of certain committees and commissions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend Resolution No.
7682 to change the time of the regular meetings of certain committees
and commissions and to repeal Resolution No. 8731.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
23 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true

24 and correct.
SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby

26 repeals Resolution No. 8731.
SECTION 3:
Sections 4 through 5 below will take effect on
28 May 18, 2005.
1 SECTION 4: The City Council hereby amends Section 3 of
2 Resolution No. 7682 as follows:
3 SECTION 3: Police and Fire Commission.
4 The regular meetings of the Police and Fire
5 Commissioners of the City of Vernon shall be
6 held in the City Council Chamber at the above-
7 described location on the first (1st) Wednesday
8 of each month at the hour of 4:30 p.m. and the
9 third (3rd) Wednesday of each month at the hour
10 of 4:30 p.m. If said regular meetings are
11 scheduled on a recognized holiday, said
12 meetings shall the~ take place on the day
13 thereafter, at the same time and place.
14 SECTION 5: The City Council hereby amends Section 4 of
15 Resolution No. 7682 as follows:
16 SECTION 4: Board of Library Trustees.
17 The regular meetings of the Board of Library
18 Trustees of the City of Vernon shall be held in
19 the City Council Chamber on the same day as
20 regular meetings of the City Council of the City
21 of Vernon at the hour of 4:00 p.m., or as soon
22 thereafter as .the City Council adjourns the City
23 of Vernon regular Public Benefits Resource
24 Committee meeting. If a regularly scheduled
25 meeting of the City Council is adjourned to
26 another date and/or time, the meeting of the
27 Board of Library Trustees shall be deemed
28 continued by the same action.

SECTION 6:
In all other respects, Resolution No. 7682 shall
2 remain in full force and effect, and the provisions of said resolution
3 not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby
4 repealed.

SECTION 7~
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
6 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
7 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
