RESOLUTION NO. 8756
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 594 FOR THE
DEMOLITION OF CITY OWNED AUXILIARY SHED AND
ASSOCIATED STRUCTURES AT 2301 VERNON AVENUE
AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED
PROPOSALS OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH

WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council ofthe City of Vernon
Contract No. 594 for the Demolition of City Owned Auxiliary Shed and Associated Structures at

2301 V ernon Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has determined that it is in
the best interest ofthe City of Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance with the

Vernon City Code.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council ofthe City of V ernon hereby finds and

determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: Contract No. 594 for the Demolition of City Owned Auxiliary
Shed and Associated Structures at 2301 V ernon Avenue is hereby approved and accepted by the
City Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk ofthe City of Vernon is hereby directed to file in
his office at the City Hall of the City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby directed to give
notice, in writing, inviting sealed proposals or bids for Demolition of City Owned Auxiliary
Shed and Associated Structures at 2301 Vernon Avenue in accordance with Contract No. 594

and in accordance with this resolution.

SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general circulation printed, published
or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or cause
the same to be posted, in three ofthe most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the
northwest comer of 38th Street anq Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast comer of Leonis Boulevard

1 and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board located outside on the wall near the second
2 floor entrance to the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of
3 Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of California.
4 SECTION 6: The City Clerk ofthe City of Vernon is hereby directed to post
5 said notice forthwith and the first posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10) days before
6 the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals
7 or bids will be received by the City of V ernon at the office of the City Clerk of the City, at the
8 City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of2:00 p.m. on the
9 21st day of June 2005.
10 SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of
11 this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
