RESOLUTION NO. 8757
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 595 FOR THE
RESERVOIR 2-1 ROOF IMPROVEMENTAND AUTHORIZING
NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS IN
ACCORDANCE THEREWITH

6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Vernon
7 Contract No. 595 for the Reservoir 2-1 Roof Improvement; and
8 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has determined that it is in
9 the best interest of the City of Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance with the
10 Vernon City Code.
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
12 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
13 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and
14 determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct.
15 SECTION 2: Contract No. 595 for the Reservoir 2-1 Roof Improvement is
16 hereby approved and accepted by the City Council ofthe City of Vernon.
17 SECTION 3: The City Clerk ofthe City of Vernon is hereby directed to file in
18 his office at the City Hall of the City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
19 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby directed to give
20 notice, in writing, inviting sealed proposals or bids for the Reservoir 2-1 Roof Improvement in
21 accordance with Contract No. 595 and in accordance with this resolution.
22 SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general circulation printed, published
23 or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or cause
24 the same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the
25 northwest comer of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast comer of Leonis Boulevard
2 6 and Pacific Boulevard, and on the .bulletin board located outside on the wall near the second
27 floor entrance to the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of
28 Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of California.
1 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby directed to post
2 said notice forthwith and the first posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10) days before
3 the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals
4 or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the office ofthe City Clerk of the City, at the
5 City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 5th
6 day of July 2005.
7 SECTION 7: The City Clerk ofthe City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of
8 this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
