RESOLUTION NO. 8758
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 592 FOR
DISTRICT BOULEVARD AND FRUITLAND AVENUE
SEWER MAIN REPLACEMENT, CENTRAL MANUFACTURING
DISTRICT (CMD) SEWER PHASE III AND AUTHORIZING
NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS IN
ACCORDANCE THEREWITH

7 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Vernon
8 Contract No. 592 for the District Boulevard and Fruitland Avenue Sewer Main Replacement,
9 Central Manufacturing District (CMD) Sewer Phase III; and
10 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has determined that it is in
11 the best interest ofthe City of Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance with the
12 Vernon City Code.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
14 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
15 SECTION 1: The City Council ofthe City of Vernon hereby finds and
16 determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct.
17 SECTION 2: Contract No. 592 for the District Boulevard and Fruitland Avenue
18 Sewer Main Replacement, Central Manufacturing District (CMD) Sewer Phase III is hereby
19 approved and accepted by the City Council of the City of Vernon.
20 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby directed to file in
21 his office at the City Hall of the City of V ernon a copy of said contract.
22 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby directed to give
23 notice, in writing, inviting sealed proposals or bids for District Boulevard and Fruitland Avenue
24 Sewer Main Replacement, Central Manufacturing District (CMD) Sewer Phase III in accordance
25 with Contract No. 592 and in accordance with this resolution.
26 SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general circulation printed, published
27 or circulated in the City of V ernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or cause
28 the same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the
1 northwest comer of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast comer of Leonis Boulevard
2 and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board located outside on the wall near the second
3 floor entrance to the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of
4 Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of California.
5 SECTION 6: The City Clerk ofthe City of Vernon is hereby directed to post
6 said notice forthwith and the first posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10) days before
7 the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said not~ce shall provide that sealed proposals
8 or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk ofthe City, at the
9 City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of2:00 p.m. on the 7th
10 day of July 2005.
11 SECTION 7: The City Clerk ofthe City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of
12 this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
