RESOLUTION NO. 8798
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF J & G
INDUSTRIES INC. FOR THE DEMOLITION OF CITY
OWNED AUXILIARY SHED AND ASSOCIATED
STRUCTURES AT 2301 VERNON AVENUE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 594 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION
OF SAID CONTRACT

8 WHEREAS, Contract No. 594 of the City of Vernon was approved by the City
9 Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to Resolution No. 8756, and sealed bids were opened on
10 June 21, 2005; and
11 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of
12 Community Services & Water, who has reported to the City Council under the date of June 29,
13 2005, recommending that Contract No. 594 for the Demolition of City Owned Auxiliary Shed
14 and Associated Structures at 2301 Vernon Avenue be executed with J & G Industries Inc. on the
15 basis of its bid in the sum of Thirty One Thousand One Hundred Ninety Nine Dollars and no
16 cents ($31,199.00), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
18 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
19 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and
20 determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct.
21 SECTION 2: The City Council ofthe City of Vernon does hereby award
22 Contract No. 594 to J & G Industries Inc. in accordance with the recommendation of Samuel
23 Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, and authorizes the Mayor and City
24 Clerk to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.
25 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to execution of the contract and
26 the City Treasurer is hereby directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or certified
27 checks deposited with. said bids upon the receipt of an executed contract from J & G Industries
28 Inc. accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

1 SECTION 4: The City Clerk ofthe City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of
2 this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
