RESOLUTION NO. 8799
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF TOBO
CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE FIRE STATION NO.2
REPLACEMENT, POLICE DEPARTMENT AND PUBLIC
WORKS BUILDING REMODEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 582 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND
APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT

7 WHEREAS, Contract No. 582 of the City of Vernon was approved by the City
8 Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to Resolution No. 8736, and sealed bids were opened on
9 June 16,2005; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of
11 Community Services & Water, who has reported to the City Council under the date of June 30,
12 2005, recommending that Contract No. 582 for the Fire Station No.2 Replacement, Police
13 Department and Public Works Building Remodel be executed with Tobo Construction, Inc. on
14 the basis of its bid in the sum of Four Million Five Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars and no cents
15 ($4,550,000.00), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
17 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
18 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and
19 determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct.
20 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby award
21 Contract No. 582 to Tobo Construction, Inc. in accordance with the recommendation of Samuel
22 Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, and authorizes the Mayor and City
23 Clerk to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.
24 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to execution of the contract and
25 the City Treasurer is hereby directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or certified
26 checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt of an executed contract from Tobo
27 Construction, Inc. accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
28 SECTION 4: The City Clerk ofthe City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of
1 this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
