CITY OF VERNON
RESOLUTION NO. 880 1
COMMENDING STEVEN E. PARKER FOR HIS MANY
YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, STEVEN E. PARKER was employed by the City of Vernon from February 5, 2001,
as the Fire Chief; and
WHEREAS, STEVEN E. PARKER retired from the service of the City of Vernon on June 30,
2004; and
WHEREAS, since July 1,2004, the City contracted with Mr. Parker to perform consulting services
to assist the City in the transition to a new Fire Chief; and
WHEREAS, the contract with Mr. Parker expired on or about June 23, 2005; and
WHEREAS, STEVEN E. PARKER has faithfully served the City of Vernon for approximately 3
years, and his loss will be deeply felt by the City of Vernon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SFrTTON 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon takes this opportunity to commend
STEVEN E. PARKER for his many years of devoted service to the City of Vernon.
SFrTTON ?: The City Council of the City of Vernon wishes STEVEN E. PARKER continued
success in whatever endeavors he may undertake.
sprTTON 1: The City Council of the City of V ernon shall certify the passage of this resolution
and present a copy thereof to STEVEN E. PARKER and that thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
