Resolution No. 8822 \ . ,', , \ " , , . 1 RESOLUTION NO. 8822 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 8473, AS REAFFIRMED AND AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. 8780, BY AMENDING PAGES 4-7, 15 AND 17 OF SCHEDULE II (EXHIBIT "B") OF SAID RESOLUTION WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED CERTAIN EXPENSE ALLOWANCES 4 5 6 7 WHEREAS, on June. 30, 2004, Resolution No. 8473 was adopted 8 9 by the City Council of the City of Vernon to be effective on July 1, 2004; and 10 WHEREAS, on June 29, 2005, Resolution No. 8780 was adopted 11 by the City Council of the City of Vernon reaffirming and amending Resolution No. 8473 to be effective on July 1, 2005; and 12 13 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to 14 create the position of Chief Assistant City Attorney and reclassify 15 16 the position of Finance Administrator/Internal Investigator/Auditor to Assistant City Attorney for Finance Administration and Revenue Control 17 in the Office of the City Attorney/Public Prosecutor with the 18 19 20 21 appropriate salary scales effective August 1, 2005; and WHEREAS, the following job classifications were inadvertently omitted in Schedule II, Exhibit B, of Resolution No. 8473, as amended by Resolution No. 8780: Senior Substation Technician, 22 Gas Systems Superintendent, Field Supervisor, Meter & Regulator Tech, 23 Construction Tech, Controls Technician, Generations Coordinator, 24 Substation Technician and Associate Resource Scheduler; and 25 26 27 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to add a new page 6A and amend pages 4, 5, 7, 15 and 17 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B" of Resol~tion No. 8473, as reaffirmed and amended, to 28 create the position of Chief Assistant City Attorney and reclassify ~' . . .' " ; 1 the position of Finance Administrator/Internal Investigator/Auditor to 2 Assistant City Attorney for Finance Administration and Revenue Control 3 in the Office of the City Attorney/Public Prosecutor Department and to 4 correct the inadvertent omission of certain job classifications in the 5 Light & Power and City Administrator/City Clerk Departments. 6 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 7 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: 8 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby 9 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true 10 and correct. 11 SECTION 2: Effective August 1, 2005, Page 17 of Schedule 12 II, Exhibit "B" of Resolution No. 8473, as reaffirmed and amended, is 13 hereby amended to create the position of Chief Assistant City Attorney 14 and to reclassify the position of Finance Administrator/Internal 15 Investigator/Auditor to Assistant City Attorney for Finance 16 Administration and Revenue Control and in the Office of the City 17 Attorney/Public Prosecutor Department with the appropriate salary 18 scales as indicated in Exhibit A which is attached hereto and 19 incorporated by reference. 20 Effective upon the date of the passage of this Resolution, 21 the City Attorney shall act as the Assistant City Attorney for Finance 22 Administration and Revenue Control in the Office of the City 23 Attorney/Public Prosecutor Department until such time as the City 24 Council permanently fills the position. 25 SECTION 3: Effective July 1, 2005, Schedule II, Exhibit 26 lIB" of Resolution No. 8473, as reaffirmed and amended, is hereby 27 amended as follows: 28 (i) Page 15 is amended to restore the position of - 2 - , . . . , . ,\ 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 Associate Resource Scheduler in the City Administrator/City Clerk Department with the appropriate salary scale as indicated in Exhibit B which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference. (ii) Page 6A is added and pages 4, 5 and 7 are amended to restore the following job classifications to the Light & Power Department with the appropriate salary scales as indicated in Exhibit C which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference: Senior Substation Technician, Gas Systems Superintendent, Field Supervisor, Meter & Regulator Tech, Construction Tech, Controls Technician, Generations Coordinator and Substation Technician. SECTION 4: The provisions of Resolution Nos. 8473, 8517 8530, 8594, 8613, 8644, 8659, 8690 and 8780 not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby repealed; in all other respects, Resolution No. 8473, as amended by Resolution Nos. 8517, 8530, 8594, 8613, 8644, 8659, 8690 and 8780 shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
