RESOLUTION NO. 8834
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING THE PROCUREMENT OF COMMISSIONING
AND OPERATING SPARE PARTS FOR THE MALBURG
GENERATING STATION PROJECT AT A NOT TO EXCEED
AMOUNT OF $2,188,356.00
7 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon ("City") is constructing a 134 MW
8 Combined Cycle Power Plant, the Malburg Generating Station (the
9 "Malburg Project"), for the purpose of installing additibnal generating
10 capacity that will yield an efficient, cost-effective, and reliable
11 source of electric generation to the City's inhabitants; and
12 WHEREAS, the City has determined that it needs to purchase
13 spare parts for the operation and maintenance of the Malburg Project
14 from various vendors for the following components: Instruments and
15 Controls, Steam Turbine Generator (STG), Combustion Turbine Generators
16 (CTGs), Balance of Plant and Electric for a not to exceed amount of
17 $2,188,356.18; and
18 WHEREAS, in order to operate and maintain the Malburg
19 Project with minimal delays, the City needs to authorize the Acting
20 Director of Light & Power, or his designee, to negotiate and prepare
21 requisitions with various vendors to supply the necessary spare parts,
22 subject to the purchase orders being ratified by the City Council; and
23 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
24 determined that, pursuant to the provisions of Subsection (a) of
25 Section 2.27 of the Vernon City Code, it is in the public ~nterest and
26 necessity to purchase the spare parts from various vendors for the
27 operation and maintenance of the Malburg Project.

1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
2 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
3 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
4 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
5 and correct.
6 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
7 authorizes the Acting Director of Light & Power, or his designee the
8 Acting City Clerk, to negotiate with various vendors for the purchase
9 of the spare parts for the Malburg Project at a total not to exceed
10 amount of $2,188.356.00 for the following components and to prepare
11 the necessary requisitions, subject to the purchase orders for each
12 component being ratified by the City Council:
13 Instruments and Controls $ 584,034.16
14 STG: $ 401,644.01
15 CTGs $ 705,774.01
16 Balance of Plant $ 212,649.00
17 Electrical $ 284,255.00
18 SECTION 3: The Acting City Clerk of the City of Vernon
19 shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
20 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
