A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING GLORIA J. OROSCO, SPECIAL
ASSISTANT TO THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR, TO EXECUTE
DOCUMENTS RELATING TO CASE NOS. BC 331516 AND BS
095763 ON BEHALF OF THE CITY

7 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon is currently involved in two
8 pending lawsuits, LASC Case Nos. BC 331516 and BS 095763 (the
9 "Lawsuits"); and
10 WHEREAS, due to certain lawsuits the City is currently
11 involved, the City needs to authorize a representative to execute
12 verifications, declarations and related documents on behalf of the City
13 for matters concerning the litigation; and
14 WHEREAS, this authorization will provide for timely
15 responses to discovery and the ability to file and respond to motions;
16 and
17 WHEREAS, the City desires to authortze Gloria J. Orosco,
18 Special Assistant to the City Administrator, to execute verifications,
19 declarations and related documents on behalf of the City for matters
20 concerning the Lawsuits.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
22 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
24 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
25 and correct.

SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
27 authorizes Gloria J. Orosco, Special Assistant to the City
28 Administrator, to review and execute any verifications, declarations
1 and related documents on behalf of the City for all matters concerning
2 the Lawsuits for the duration of the Lawsuits or until rescinded by the
3 City.

SECTION 3:
The Acting City Clerk of the City of Vernon

shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
