RESOLUTION NO. 8900
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO RENDER
SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE CITY RELATING TO THE
CONDUCT OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD
ON TUESDAY, APRIL 11, 2006
WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election is to be held in the
City of Vernon (the "City"), California, on April 11, 2006; and
WHEREAS, in the course of conduct of the election it is
necessary for the City to request services of the County of Los
Angeles; and
WHEREAS, all necessary expenses in performing these services
shall be paid by the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 10002 of
17 the Elections Code of the State of California, this City Council
18 requests the Board of Supervisors of the County to permit the County
19 Election Department to prepare and furnish to the City fo:r; use in
20 conducting the election the computer record of the names and addresses
21 of all eligible registered voters in the City in order that the City
22 may print labels to be attached to self-mailer sample ballot
23 pamphlets; and will also furnish to the City printed indices of the
24 voters to be used by the precinct board; and will make available to
25 the City additional election equipment and assistance according to
27
26 state law.
SECTION 2:
The City shall reimburse the County for services
28 performed when the work is completed and upon presentation to the City

1 of a properly approved bill.

SECTION 3:
The Acting City Clerk is directed to forward
3 without delay to the Board of SupervLsors and to the County Election
4 Department, each a certified copy of this resolution at the following
5 addresses:

SECTION 4:
