A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 8862 REGARDING
PARTICIPATION IN A QUARTERMASTER PROGRAM PROVIDED
BY FISHER SAFETY

6 WHEREAS, on September 21, 2005, the City Council of the City
7 of Vernon adopted Resolution No. 8862 approving the City's
8 participation in a Quartermaster Program developed by Fisher Safety, a
9 division of Fisher Scientific Co., L.L.C. ("Fisher"), to enable the
10 City to purchase equipment for the Fire Department from Fisher under a
11 program developed to provide competitive pricing and to expedite
12 equipment purchases using grant funds (the "Program"); and
13 WHEREAS, following the City Council's approval of the
14 Program, but before an actual purchase was made, the purchasing
15 section discovered that prices using the Program were significantly
16 higher than initial quotes sought by the Fire Department; and
17 WHEREAS, the City desires to rescind its prior approval of
18 the Program and purchase the equipment through its regular purchasing
19 process.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
21 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
23 finds and determines that the recitals contained he~einabove are true
24 and correct.

SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
26 rescinds Resolution No. 8862 and the City of Vernon's participation in
27 the Quartermaster and Emergency Responder Equipment Purchase Programs.

SECTION 3:
The Acting City Clerk of the City of Vernon
2 shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
3 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
4 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of November, 2005.
