RESOLUTION NO. 8931
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF
BEST ROOFING & WATERPROOFING, INC. DBA
BEST CONTRACTING SERVICES IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 589 OF THE CITY OF VERNON

WHEREAS, Best Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. dba Best Contracting Services

was awarded Contract No. 589 for the Roofing Replacement of Various City Structures pursuant
8
to Resolution No. 8739 of the City of Vernon; and

WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services and Water
has reported to the City Council of the City of Vernon on December 21,2005 that said work has
been completed and recommends that the work be accepted and payment be made to the
Contractor in accordance with the agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and
determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The work of Best Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. dba Best
Contracting Services pursuant to Contract No. 589 is hereby approved and accepted by the City
Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The total expended amount is Thirty Four Thousand Six Hundred
Eighty Three Dollars and no cents ($34,683.00). Therefore, of the funds due to Best Roofing &
Waterproofing, Inc. dba Best Contracting Services Thirty One Thousand Two Hundred Fourteen
Dollars and Seventy cents ($31,214.70) is now due. The remaining ten percent (10%) or the sum
of Three Thousand Four Hundred Sixty Eight Dollars and Thirty cents ($3,468.30) is payable
thirty-five days after the adoption of this resolution.
SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby directs payment of
said sums as set forth to Best Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. dba Best Contracting Services and
instructs the City Clerk to file a notice of completion with the County Recorder.

1 SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of
2 this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
