Resolution No. 91811 RESOLUTION NO. 9181 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 9089 BY AMENDING 4 SCHEDULE II (EXHIBIT B) OF SAID RESOLUTION WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF 5 SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED CERTAIN EXPENSE ALLOWANCES 6 7 WHEREAS, on June 28, 2006, Resolution No. 9089 was adopted 8 by the City Council of the City of Vernon to be effective on July 1, 9 2006 (the "Salary Resolution"); and 10 WHEREAS, Schedule II, Exhibit "B," of the Salary Resolution 11 provides for the positions and salary scales of all employee positions 12 within the different departments of the City of Vernon; and 13 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1126 was adopted on December 20, 14 2006, and will become effective January 20, 2007, wherein all the 15 reorganized departments within the City are set forth; and 16 WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend Schedule II 17 (Exhibit "B") to reclassify, transfer and reorganize the various 18 positions and salary scales within the appropriate departments to 19 implement Ordinance No. 1126; and 20 WHEREAS, the City Council desires to: 21 (a) create the positions of Document Control Specialist, 22 Document Control Assistant, Projects Control Manager, Secretary to the 23 Director of Light & Power, and Electric Resources Planning and 24 Development Manager within the Light & Power Department with the 25 appropriate salary scales; 26 (b) adjust the salary scale of the City Attorney, 27 eliminate the position of Chief Assistant City Attorney, change the 28 Assistant City Attorney position to Assistant City Attorney I 1 and Assistant City Attorney II in the Office of the City 2 Attorney/Public Prosecutor with the appropriate salary sales; and 3 (c) create the position of Assistant to the City 4 Administrator in the City Administration/City Clerk Department with 5 the appropriate salary scales and eliminate the positions of Resource 6 Engineer and Special Assistant to the City Administrator in the City 7 Administration/City Clerk Department; and 8 (d) delete the entire subsection (a) of Section 21 9 entitled "Compensation of Certain Positions - City Administrator/City 10 Clerk Department." 11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 12 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: 13 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby 14 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true 15 and correct. 16 SECTION 2: The reorganization of the different departments 17 within the City of Vernon shall be effective on January 20, 2007, the 18 effective date of Ordinance No. 1126. 19 SECTION 3: Effective December 24, 2006, various pages of 20 Schedule II, Exhibit "B," of the Salary Resolution are hereby amended 21 to (a) create the positions of Document Control Specialist, Document 22 Control Assistant, Projects Control Manager, Secretary to the Director 23 of Light & Power, and Electric Resources Planning and Development 24 Manager within the Light & Power Department with the appropriate 25 salary scales; (b) reorganize the positions of Assistant City Attorney 26 to Assistant City Attorney I and Assistant City Attorney II in the 27 Office of the City Attorney/Public Prosecutor; (c) create the position 28 of Assistant to the City Administrator in the City Administration/City - 2 - 1 Clerk Department with the appropriate salary scale; and (d) eliminate 2 the position of Resource Engineer in the City Administration/City 3 Clerk Department as indicated in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto 4 and made a part hereof by this reference. Some people serve in more 5 than one position in more than one department and therefore some 6 positions are indicated in Schedule II attached hereto as Exhibit A 7 without a salary scale. 8 SECTION 4: Effective January 20, 2007, all the pages of 9 Schedule II, Exhibit "B," of the Salary Resolution are hereby amended 10 to implement the reorganization established in Ordinance No. 1126 as 11 indicated in Exhibit "B" which is attached hereto and made a part 12 hereof by this reference. Some people serve in more than one position 13 in more than one department and therefore some positions are indicated 14 in Schedule II attached hereto as Exhibit B without a salary scale. 15 SECTION 5: Subsection (a) of Section 21 entitled 16 "Compensation of Certain Positions - City Administrator/City Clerk 17 Department" is hereby deleted in its entirety. 18 SECTION 6: The provisions of Resolution Nos. 9089, 9106, 19 9120, 9129, 9142 and 9167 not consistent with or in conflict with this 20 resolution are hereby repealed; in all other respects, Resolution No. 21 9089, as amended by Resolution Nos. 9106, 9120, 9129, 9142 and 9167, 22 shall remain in full force and effect. 23 24 25 26 27 28 - 3 - IWA 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 SECTION 7: The Acting City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
