RESOLUTION NO. 9198
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPOINTING STEVE TOWLES TO SERVE AS THE
ACTING CHIEF OF POLICE OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, the Personnel Committee Section of the City Council
on December 19, 2006, considered the reclassification of Steve Towles
to the position of Chief of Police; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
appoint Steve Towles to serve as the Acting Chief of Police of the
Vernon Police Department, effective December 20, 2006; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council that there be
close cooperation and coordination between the Chief of Police and the
City Administrator in order to implement City Council policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of\Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained herein�above are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
appoints Steve Towles to serve as the Acting Chief of Police of the
Vernon Police Department, effective December 20, 2006.
SECTION 3: Steve Towles shall work directly with and report
to the Acting City Administrator in administering City.Council
policies and practices in relation to administrative and personnel
matters in the Vernon Police Department.
1 SECTION 4: The Acting City Clerk of the City of Vernon
2 shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
3 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
4 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of December, 2006.

Vernon, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution, being
