RESOLUTION NO. 9200
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
AN ASSIGNMENT WORK AUTHORIZATION/NOTICE-TO-PROCEED
TO GALLIERA, INC., DBA TRICO CONSTRUCTION FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5119 AND 5201 DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has utilized the project
construction and construction management services of Galliera, Inc.,
dba Trico Construction ("Trico") for various projects of all City
departments in accordance with an Amended and Restated Professional
Services Agreement for Project Construction and Construction
Management Services (the "Agreement") approved by Resolution No. 8693
on March 16, 2005; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to authorize Trico to continue the
demolition, refurbishment and/or renovation of structures located at
5119 and 5201 District (the "Property") for the purpose of building
Light & Power field offices, a fabrication shop for Light & Power
equipment, and a warehouse for Light & Power supplies and storage; and
WHEREAS, in order to lock in costs and avoid significant and
unnecessary delays, the City Council desires to authorize Trico to
proceed with the demolition, refurbishment and/or renovation of the
Property, subject to Trico submitting a definitive budget for the
project and the execution of an Assignment Work Authorization/Notice-
to-Proceed memorializing the work to be performed and the budget
therefore.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
1 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
2 and correct.
3 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
4 approves and authorizes Trico to proceed with the demolition,
5 refurbishment and/or renovation of the Property, subject to Trico
6 submitting a definitive budget for the project and the execution of an
7 Assignment Work Authorization/Notice-to-Proceed memorializing the work
8 to be performed and the budget therefore in accordance with the
9 Agreement.
10 SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
11 authorizes the Acting City Administrator to execute the Assignment
12 Work Authorization/Notice-to-Proceed, subject to ratification by the
13 City Council.
14 SECTION 4: The Acting City Clerk of the City of Vernon
15 shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
16 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
