RESOLUTION NO. 9233
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 9198 REGARDING THE
APPOINTMENT OF STEVE TOWLES AS ACTING POLICE CHIEF
WHEREAS, on December 20, 2006, the City Council of the City
of Vernon adopted Resolution No. 9198 appointing Steve Towles
("Towles") to serve as the Acting Chief of Police of the Vernon Police
Department, effective December 20, 2006; and
WHEREAS, on January 17, 2007, the City Council of the City of
Vernon amended Resolution No. 9198 to add language respecting backpay
but inadvertently omitted that October 5, 2006 would be established as
the anniversary date for Towles; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council that Resolution
No. 9198 be amended to provide for the establishment of the anniversary)
date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
amends Resolution No. 9198 to modify the following Section:
Section 5: The City Council of the City of
Vernon hereby establishes October 5, 2006 as the
Anniversary Date for Towles and also authorizes the
payment of $4,273.50 for the period of October 5,
2006 to December 19, 2006 during which Towles
1 performed the duties of an Acting Police Chief,
2 Step 3, while being compensated as a Captain, Step
3 1.
4 SECTION 3: The provisions of Resolution Nos. 9198 and 9221
5 not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby
6 repealed; in all other respects Resolution No. 9198 shall remain in
7 full force and effect.
8 SECTION 4: The Acting City Clerk of the City of Vernon
9 shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
10 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
