RESOLUTION NO. 9312
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPOINTING PERSONNEL TO VARIOUS POSITIONS
WITHIN THE CITY
WHEREAS, on December 20, 2006, the City Council of the City
of Vernon adopted Resolution No. 9198 appointing Steve Towles to the
position of Acting Chief of Police; and
WHEREAS, on January 17, 2007, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Resolution No. 9218 appointing Nelly Giron to serve as
the Acting City Clerk and Kristen Enomoto to serve as the Acting Deputy
City Clerk of the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, on June 29, 2005, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Resolution No. 8790, as amended by Resolution No. 8802
on July 12, 2005, appointing Martha Valenzuela as Acting Purchasing
Agent and Willard Yamaguchi as Acting Risk Manager; and
WHEREAS, on January 16, 2007, the Personnel Committee Section
of the City Council of the City of Vernon approved the promotion of
James P. Rodino to Acting Captain in the Vernon Police Department
effective January 21, 2007; and
WHEREAS, on July 12, 2005, the Personnel Committee Section of
the City Council of the City of Vernon recommended the promotion of
Raquel Franco to Acting Payroll Clerk effective July 5, 2005; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
permanently appoint the aforementioned personnel to their respective
positions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
appoints the following individuals to fill the positions indicated
below effective May 7, 2007, with no additional compensation:
City Clerk: Manuela Giron
Chief of Police Steven Towles
Deputy City Clerk: Kristen Enomoto
Risk Manager: Willard G. Yamaguchi
Purchasing Agent: Martha Valenzuela
Captain: James P. Rodino
Payroll Clerk Raquel Franco
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed, specifically Resolution Nos.
8790, 8802, 9198 and 9218.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
